Drawings

Drawing is the foundation for everything I do. My drawings can take a month or more to render, and I particularly like working in graphite and charcoal. Spending so much time on a drawing helps me develop an intimate knowledge of the subject and a deep emotional connection to it. Whatever I choose for a subject must be rendered with anatomical, physical and atmospheric integrity. The Hudson River School and the work of Howard Pyle are my inspiration.
